I was going to drop this inaugural post last week, but then Los Angeles caught on fire. I won’t get into that—the devastation, the loss, the grief—because this Substack is meant to be a frivolous distraction. But I’ll just say my heart goes out to this wild and beautiful city and everyone who lost their homes, belongings, pets, or sense of security in the fires. And I’m dropping this link if you’d like to donate to those affected by the fires.
